Great North Run 2006

A report from one of our runners!!

Dear All,

Thank you ever so much for sponsoring me and all the best wishes towards my first ever 13.1 miles at the Great North Run http://gnr.realbuzz.com/ . I am really pleased that I have managed to complete in hour 40 minutes some seconds and milliseconds. My target was under 2 hours. It certainly was great feeling to complete the race with several thousands other runners. I enjoyed all the way 13.1 miles - from one minute silence in the memory of love ones who I was running for till the crossing the finish line with great relief.

The locals were great support and great encouragement for the runners. People shouting Oggy Oggy Oggy - children handing out Jelly babies, fruits, water, ice creams, clapping and shouting "Come on, Make Poverty History", hosed us down with water from the house, band playing music and singing songs ...simply Wow! The environment was simply fantastic though I struggled from 12 miles. However, people I had in mind while running, sponsors, well wishers and certainly crowd kept me going.

I would like to thank everyone for believing in me. BIG THANK YOU!!! I have managed to raise more than £300 pound for OXFAM and Jubilee Debt Campaign.http://www.justgiving.com/tshering . It was certainly a life time experience. Thank you all for being there for me.
